Holly Graham, M.S.Ed. (she/her) is a first-year doctoral student at the Pennsylvania State University in the Education Policy and Leadership program. She is interested in the broad interrogation of how anti-Black history continues to influence Black people’s experiences in higher education. She is specifically interested in critically understanding how Black undergraduate and graduate women nurture community through their hair while on predominantly white campuses.
Holly has professional experiences in urban K-12 settings and higher education spaces dedicated to the well-being of historically marginalized students. She considers these experiences essential to her pursuit of doctoral studies, deeply informing her research focus and approaches.
Holly is from the southside of Chicago, a place she holds near and dear to her heart. She holds a B.S. in Health Science from the University of Missouri and a M.S.Ed. in Higher Education from the University of Pennsylvania.
